Hello, and welcome to the latest issue of Avanade Advisor. For those of
you who are new to the Advisor, it is a quarterly online newsletter
authored by our technologists to share tips, best practices, and other thought
leadership with our customers and colleagues around the Americas.
In this issue, our CIO, Sean Jazayeri, takes on one of the most common
challenges IT departments face today: getting positive results from budget
discussions with the CFO. You’ll also hear from our experts about a new asset,
originally developed by the Avanade Germany team, called "MAMO" (Migration
Accelerator for Microsoft Office). Used with a number of customers around the
world today, MAMO was first put to the test at TRUMPF, and we’ll walk you
through the impressive cost and time savings this asset delivered.
On a separate – and slightly sentimental note – I wanted to also note that
April is a special time for Avanade. Our company was founded five years ago, on
April 4, 2000. The last five years have been an extremely exciting journey for
us, and we are proud of the company we have built. Core to our success has been
the ability to deliver for our customers, and I want to recognize all of you
with whom we have worked for your support of our people and belief in our
capability.
Today, Avanade has nearly 3,000 employees in 33 locations around the world. We
are growing steadily and building market share. Most importantly, however, we
are building mindshare with the people that count: all of you. We look forward
to serving you in the journey that lies ahead.
Growth is not a goal in its own right; it brings with it opportunity – to serve
more customers in more industries, and to build more capability and solutions.
In turn, we can re-use the knowledge and experience we gain to offer more
breadth and depth to our customers.
Thank you for your time and, as always, please feel free to share your comments
on Avanade Advisor with me directly: adamw@avanade.com.

We often hear about the benefits of enterprise applications for CRM but
integrating with legacy systems is more than routine. Avanade consultants Matt
Parks, principal solution developer, Joe Arumainayagam, solution developer, and
Sylvain Duford, solutions architect, have been using Microsoft BizTalk Server
to integrate CRM and enterprise applications with customers' systems. We asked
them what IT pros need to know.
